Artist Statement

For my Self-Portrait Lino-cut, the reason I choose this picture is because it was the only one I had of myself. Somethings I like were my hair. I spent some time trying to get the lines going the way I wanted it to. I also love the piano and music notes for a background. Some things I wanted to fix and do better one was. I wrote piano the wrong way so when I printed it out the words were backwards. I also wanted to fix the shadow, I originally had a shadow on my cheek and on half of my other side of my face but I cut my face out before I remembered there were shadows. I think I did a okay job with balancing the positive and negative space. For my first lino cut I think I did a okay job.
